Despite lifelong belittlement
by his own father,
Homer deeply loves and is intensely devoted to his wife and kids,
when it occurs to him. Thus, Lisa feels left out, Bart acts out,
and, as far as Homer is concerned, Maggie rarely even exists.
As for Marge, Homer often sings her praises - between rounds
of beer at Moe's Tavern. Now, if only he could remember the words
to that praise-song. Homer is a man who, through punishing trial
and error, has proven that even one's loftiest goals are attainable.
Provided you set them low enough and assuming they include donuts.
He is also well versed in the ins and outs of his job at the
Springfield Nuclear Power Plant, having been fired and rehired
repeatedly for the same position.
When the Simpsons Talking
Animated Lamp is turned on and off, Homer dances and says one
of the following phrases:
"Well, if it isn't
the leader of the nerd patrol boning up on his nerd lessons."
"What's wrong? Are you sleepy, hungry, gassy? Is it gas? It's gas,
isn't it?"
"Asleep at the switch? I wasn't asleep. I was drunk!"
"That was the suckiest day that ever sucked."
"Please turn that off. I seem to have misplaced my pen."
"Oh no! I'm somewhere where I don't know where I am!"
"It's not whether you win or lose, but how drunk you get."
"There's some weird, twisted, gutless, evil stuff in that place. I want
in!"
